"Jericho" on CBS

If you've been following the new-this-season television series on CBS, "Jericho," then you know it's about "the day after" a nuclear attack obliterates 20 major US cities and the fallout, both literally and figuratively, from that attack on US soil. Within months the US government has failed, civilized society is on the verge of anarchy & chaos, and the town of Jericho, Kansas much provide completely for itself.

It's amazing just how quickly & easily that fine line between a civilized society and utter chaos can be destroyed -- and then all bets are off.

In last week's episode, the mastermind behind the nuclear attack was revealed, and I noticed that it is one of my favorite character actors, Daniel Benzali, playing the part of Valente. I've loved Benzali's work ever since I first watched him in the Steven Bochco series, "Murder One."

So, in last night's episode, more is revealed about Valente, and we soon learn that this terrorist mastermind is a US citizen who worked in the senior level of the US government for the Department of Homeland Security.

And then it hit me...

Daniel Benzali has a striking resemblance to our current US Vice President, Dick Cheney!

Was that on purpose? Did the executive producers of "Jericho" intend for that or even catch it?

Whatever the case may be, I love it because let's all face it, Dubya and his big Dick are just a few nuclear bombs away from being world terrorists themselves!
